At Factory Supply Inc. we can fabricate
any platform or ladder to fulfill your access needs. We combine professional
quality with professional customer service. Listed below is a guide to help
you along the way.
Type of Material
-
Steel - Strong and
inexpensive; Steel is the common metal used for creating our platforms.

Galvanized Steel - Steel
that has been hot-dipped in zinc. Resists corrosion.

Aluminum - A lightweight
material which resists corrosion and is non-magnetic. More expensive than
Steel.

Stainless Steel - More
expensive than Aluminum, Stainless steel is very resistant to corrosion.

| Perforated
treads are used most in our applications. Upward punched holes provide a
necessary traction for dry / indoor environments. |
Serrated treads provide maximum traction for wet or oily environments. |
Grip Tape treads are adhesive-backed sandpaper specially designed on our
aluminum applications, but can be used on any type of material. |
Ribbed treads are only used on aluminum applications. The ribbed texture
provides sufficient grip. |
Designing Your Solution
There are several measurements needed to quote and create a custom
designed platform. Listed below are examples of standard platforms
and the measurements needed:

*Handrails are commonly 30" high
*CAL-OSHA standards make it 42" high. |
Stationary or Mobile
Will your application need to be mobile or will it be in a fixed
location?

Rolling - Depending on
your terrain, we can provide a sufficient caster size. The rougher your
terrain, the larger you want your caster to be. We have wider casters (2-3")
to safely roll over grating and vents. We use polyurethane casters on all of
our applications. If you would like a different type of caster please let us
know.

Stationary - If an
application is to be fixed, we provide mounting plates with holes for
bolting. If there is a specific design needed for mounting, please provide
this.
Handrail Configuration
-
Safety Chain Access - For
access from the platform area, we can remove handrails and put in their
place a removable safety chain. The chain adheres to OSHA & ANSI codes and
is perfect for quick removal to access areas off or on your platform.

Removable Handrails -
Handrails can be removable and stored away.

No Handrails - Depending
on the applications height and safety requirements, we can make it without
handrails or with handrails only on designated sides.
